Position Title: Senior Oracle DBA
Description
The Senior Oracle Database Administrator is a key position within the company and will report directly to the Vice President of Operations. He or she will play an active role in all facets of DBA responsibilities by defining and supporting production databases in a centrally hosted, thin client, multi-application environment, using the latest industry hardware and software tools.
Duties will be to manage Oracle database operating systems, including installation, configuration, security, performance tuning and troubleshooting across multiple servers and applications. Duties will also include providing data modeling and architecture direction to support new application deployment. This is a senior position and may require some travel to domestic and international sites.
Requirements
The right candidate for this position will be a strong Oracle database administrator with excellent modeling and leadership skills. Minimum requirements include:
BS in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent
Five years of RDBMS experience, including three years of Oracle 7/8 DBA experience
Solaris UNIX or NT exposure
Architecture modeling experience
Server management experience
Familiarity with Internet and Web technologies, including experience with Oracle Web Server - Solid oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated desire and aptitude to keep up with latest technology
Must enjoy the fast paced and tight deadlines of an Internet start-up company
Computer Science Masters Degree and Oracle Certification is a plus
Current or previous experience in managing teams is a plus
